This southern traditional project located in Highland Park was completed during the pandemic, when a huge shift occurred in the meaning of home. In the living room, the Yates Desygn team honored the home’s original architecture while fully updating the finishes and furnishings. The grasscloth wallcovering adds textural serenity to the room and a classic aesthetic harkens to the homeowner’s childhood. 

The clients also desired the ability to better utilize their backyard. The design team integrated a brand-new patio into the home’s existing structure ensuring it feels like a natural extension of the interior. Complete with dedicated areas to dine and lounge, the patio has become the perfect place to entertain the homeowners’ growing family.
