Deeply Rooted

Deeply Rooted

Scandinavian-Inspired Forever Home: Designed for a couple creating their forever home as their children grew into adulthood, this full-scale remodel reimagines a once-traditional Dallas residence through the lens of Scandinavian simplicity and personal storytelling. Yates Desygn led the transformation with a focus on natural light, clean lines, and curated warmth, pairing crisp contemporary architecture with vintage accents and an expressive art collection.

The 5,544-square-foot interior features four bedrooms, four full baths, and two powder rooms, with a reconfigured layout that prioritizes flow and functionality. A dream kitchen anchors the heart of the home, blending Cambria countertops and custom Bentwood cabinetry with personal treasures like an early 20th-century Bandaji chest. The living spaces are furnished with iconic pieces from Vladimir Kagan, Pierre Augustin Rose, and Tom Faulkner, while custom lighting and bespoke millwork create a layered, livable elegance.

Finished in 2024, the home reflects a refined yet relaxed sensibility—balancing modern design with deeply personal touches that honor family, history, and artistry.
